The Mary Isbell Award was established in 1990 to honor Mary Isbell- a woman who was instrumental in founding the Nimble Thimbles Quilt Guild. She was the first recipient of the award. Mary Isbell was committed to the guild and its members. She introduced quilting to many, taught individuals as well as classes, mentored others and was always willing to offer her experience to others. She exemplified the guild’s motto - “a guild with heart”.
