Nimble Thimbles Quilt Guild
The Guild With Heart
A Message from our President
Cathy Dyer
I am writing this note from my car in the middle of Alabama. Buddy and I are on a family tour of Georgia and Alabama.
Of course I have my grab and go bags with me. These are project bags with the necessary threads, fabrics, tools and instructions. I have several of them ready for different projects at any given time. I grab a couple of them and we go. At least I can make a little progress as we go.
So make a grab and go bag so that when you have to sit somewhere for a few minutes you can make progress on your projects too.
P.S. Thank you for the food donations. So let’s continue the good job and remember to bring in some foods for Messiah Lutheran’s Food Pantry
The NIMBLE THIMBLES QUILT GUILD of Mauldin, South Carolina is a non-profit organization formed to:
A. Encourage and further interest in quilt making and quilts.
B. Promote a full discussion and exchange of ideas.
C. Promote the greater fellowship between Quilters and persons interested in quilts.

Membership Chair: Mona Turner – Be sure
to sign in at her station – it lets us know who is
with us at each meeting including Visitors.
Philanthropy Chair: Pat Hubbard – She is
passionate about this committee. Let us
continue the generosity she has come to
appreciate in 2024.
Block of the Month Chair: Sandy Wessels
– I look forward to the blocks she chooses each month. She has already begun this with a
January block. Be sure to make one or more
to kick off the year with a bang.
Education Chair: Rebecca Carrion – With
her fresh perspective can even teach an old salt like me a thing or two. (Please also thank her as part of the duo who helps with the
microphone and speaker system – thanks to
Debbie Fenton.)
Website Master: Kathy Butler – what skill
and talent she has in making us look good to
the outside world.
Mystery Quilt: Janet Gregory – A prolific
quilter and sewer, Janet is leading this project
so be sure to join in and help us solve the
clues.
Block Exchange/Round Robin: Joanna
McLucas – a combination of both – what fun.
Library Chair: Yvonne Stieffel – keep tuned
in to what we have in the Library. You can sign
a book out for inspiration or a pattern for that
next project.
Strip Exchange: Cathy Dyer – Let’s cut
some 2 1/2” strips with a common theme and
swap them. Each month a different theme will
be chosen.
Nimble Thimbles is an active guild that contributes much to our Golden Strip community.
The guild meets the second Monday of each month at Messiah Lutheran Church in Mauldin. Meetings begin at 7:00 p.m. and includes a business meeting, Show and Share, and a monthly program.
Visitors are welcome, so bring a friend. There are lots of activities to become involved in. Just a few include: Secret Quilter, Strip Swap, Memory Challenge, Block of the Month, and lots of workshops.
