2009 NIMBLE THIMBLES QUILT GUILD COMMITTEES

Committees listed in alphabetical order.

Bingham-Waggoner Committee
  • Chairperson needs to set a plan for this year’s Bingham-Waggoner showing.
  • Chairperson needs to select the people on the committee. (4-5)
  • The committee should notify the news media for articles on the show.
  • The committee needs to make arrangements for the delivering and picking up the quilt for the show.
  • The committee needs to notify the guild one month in advance of how they are going to collect the quilts for the show and the take down of the show.
  • The committee should put together flyers for the Bingham-Waggoner show and take the flyers to the quilt shops and other locations for passing them out to the public.
  • The chairperson will provide a report to the guild monthly on the progress of the committee.
  • If there is any expense to be incurred, the chairperson will get prior approval from the President and or the Treasury or if the expense in excess $20.00 by the Board.
  • The committee should come up with one award to pass out for viewer’s choice.
  • The committee needs to work with the Boutique Committee.
 
Charity Committee
  • Chairperson needs to set a plan by soliciting suggestions at the October Guild meeting & having the guild vote on a project in December for the following year.
  • Chairperson will provide a report to the guild monthly on the progress of the committee.
  • Chairperson needs to select the people on the committee. (2-3)
  • The committee needs to decide how the guild will participate for this organization.
  • This committee is self-funding.

Christmas Party Committee
  • The committee will be all the members of the board.
  • The committee needs to decide where the Christmas party will be.
  • The committee should come up with a plan of what to do for the Christmas party.
  • If there is any expense to be incurred, the chairperson will get prior approval from the President and or the Treasury or if the expense in excess $20.00 by the Board.

Opportunity Quilt Committee
  • Chairperson needs to present two plans for next year’s Opportunity Quilt to the board for approval.
  • Chairperson needs to select the people on the committee. (2-3)
  • The committee should select the way the quilt will be finished (if it is to be machine or hand quilted).
  • The committee should come up with a label that recognizes the guild and the committee and people who participated in the quilt.
  • Chairperson will provide a report to the guild monthly on the progress of the quilt.
  • If there is any expense to be incurred, the chairperson will get prior approval from the President and or the Treasury or if the expense in excess $20.00 by the Board.

Retreat Committee
  • Chairperson needs to set a plan for the guild to decide on the fall retreat.
  • Chairperson needs to select the people on the committee. (2-3)
  • The committee needs to give the guild a plan with map and time schedule for the week retreat.
  • The committee needs to keep track of who is going and how much each person has paid.
  • Retreats are self-funding. All expenses incurred will be split by the participants.

Sew Saturday Committee
  • Chairperson needs to make arrangements to pickup key, open and close the building.
  • Chairperson needs to make sure the facility is cleans and all chairs and tables are in the roam order as when the facility was opened.
  • If there is a charge, the two people who open and close the facility will be able to participate without paying for the Sew Saturday.
  • Sew Saturdays are self-funding. All expenses incurred are split among the participants.

Sunshine Committee
  • Chairperson needs to set a plan for send out get well & sympathy cards when needed.
  • Chairperson will buy the cards and stamps and submit a voucher to the Treasury for reimbursement.
  • Flowers will be sent in case of the death of a guild member.
  • If there is any expense to be incurred, the chairperson will get prior approval from the President and or the Treasury or if the expense in excess $20.00 by the Board.
